Volunteering with PressFriends
PressFriends mentors are middle and high school students who are required to go through training in order to participate. We have over 200 middle and high school student volunteers who mentor over 400 elementary students a year. We have over 120 volunteer opportunities each year and currently work with 8 Title I elementary schools, the Boys & Girls Clubs of LA Harbor, two public libraries, the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, and Richstone Family Center. Parent volunteers are also needed to oversee each mentoring.
Service group partners. We work with most of the youth service groups in the South Bay, including the Manhattan Beach chapter of the National Charity League, Peninsula Chapter of the National Charity League, Assisteens, Las Ninas, Los Compadres, Los Hermanos, Las Hermanas, and PV Assembly.
